Upgraded 1950s Floorplan

This client is a married woman with a ten-year-old daughter and 12-year-old son who wanted to modernize her home built in the 1950s. She loves to cook but rarely entertains in a formal setting, as she prefers family-oriented occasions. One of her primary challenges was being isolated in the kitchen, so she engaged Revival Designs to renovate the entire ground floor of her home, to include an all new lighting plan, with the following must-haves:

• open plan concept incorporating the dining, kitchen and living rooms,

• a water closet (bathroom),

• a laundry room and

• a study

She also provided a mudroom-type area where footwear and outerwear could be removed prior to entering the home as a wishlist item.
